Apple Fans Plan ‘Candle App’ Vigil

Posted on October 6, 2011

In the wake of the sad death of Steve Jobs earlier this morning, Japanese Apple fiends are planning a candle-lit vigil outside a Tokyo Apple store, although in a fitting tribute there are to be no candles involved.

Attendees will instead be asked to bring their iPhones/iPads and hold aloft their Candle in app form, as a tribute to the recently departed visionary.

The outpouring of grief from devoted Apple fans has been tremendous, with New York mayor Michael Bloomberg likening him to Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison.

While a lot of jobs have been lost this year, this one seems to resonate the most. It’s important to remember though that for all his stellar work, Jobs was only a man, and we aren’t just saying that because we are writing from an Android tablet.
