Harvard No Longer World’s Best School

Posted on October 8, 2011

According to the recently released Times Higher Education list of the World’s Best Colleges, Harvard has been knocked off it’s perch as the number one college in the world.

The new leader? California Institute of Technology, or Caltech.

The rest of the list is dominated by other U.S. and British institutions, with only two appearances from other countries in the top 20 (namely, Switzerland’s Federal Institute of Technology and Canada’s University of Toronto).

Here’s the current top 10 as it stands:

  • California Institute of Technology
  • Harvard University / Stanford University
  • University of Oxford
  • Princeton University
  • University of Cambridge
  • Massachusetts Institute of Technology
  • Imperial College
  • University of Chicago
  • University of California, Berkele
